Group 70's Dricka Brown, Aimee Ramil Awarded 'LEED' Accreditation
Honolulu – Group 70 International is proud to announce that the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation to researcher Dricka Brown, AP and designer Aimee Ramil, AIA. Brown and Ramil join a total of 16 LEED-accredited professionals at the local, award-winning firm.
LEED accreditation signifies that an individual has passed a lengthy exam and can demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary to participate in the design process for sustainable development. The LEED exam, launched in 2001, is administered by the USGBC to recognize, through professional accreditation, an individual’s understanding of green building practices and principals, and familiarity with LEED requirements, resources and processes. LEED-accredited professionals must also be able to support and encourage integrated environmental design and help simplify the LEED certification processes.
Dricka Brown, LEED AP, provides in depth, comprehensive research services on multiple subjects, focusing on critical sustainability issues as they emerge in the planning and design process. With her LEED Accredited Professional training, she provides a perspective in her work as the sustainable development researcher that adds value and consistency with triplenet benefits relevant to sustainability principles. Brown’s writing skills for reports, publications and assessments are represented by conciseness and accuracy and are solution-oriented. Brown’s personality and social skills make her a tremendous asset to any team in which she collaborates. She received her Bachelor of Arts in environmental studies from the University of California in Santa Barbara in 2000 and has worked as an environmental professional in the state of Hawai‘i for the past five years.
Aimee Ramil’s responsibilities as a designer include overseeing projects from the conceptual design phase to production and coordination of construction documents. She has eight years of architectural experience in Hawai‘i, with a focus in the hospitality industry. Her past projects include the Hyatt Regency Maui Umalu Restaurant, Maui Hyatt Vacation Club and the Hilton Grand Waikikian. Prior to joining Group 70 in 2004, Ramil was a designer at GYA Architects where she was responsible for the design and production of state projects for the Department of Education, the Department of Transportation and various commercial projects. Ramil obtained her Bachelor of Science in architecture from the University of Virginia in 2000. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects Honolulu Chapter.
